Taking the experience of a certain automotive parts company that encountered “lock-in” while using imported airtightness testing equipment as a starting point, this article analyzes the risks of long-term lock-in inherent in equipment procurement within the industrial sector, explores the background and driving forces behind the rise of domestic alternatives in the airtightness testing industry, uses JCGK as an example to illustrate how domestic equipment has evolved from being a mere “substitute” to a “preferred choice,” and ultimately argues that a healthy industrial relationship should grant enterprises the right to diverse choices rather than single-source dependence.
